Mission Shadow: a 3D stealth game in your browser

You are a lone operative dropped by parachute onto a fortified island. Choose where to land, slip past patrols, watchtowers and security cameras, complete the mission and reach the helicopter without being seen. Mission Shadow is free, runs in any modern desktop browser and needs no download, account or install.

How to play

Every mission starts in the aircraft. Jump, open your parachute and steer toward the part of the island you want, including the sea if you would rather swim ashore. You land carrying only a knife and the Shadow Blade; pistols, submachine guns and rifles have to be taken from the guards. Reach the objective, then get to the landing pad, where five guards are waiting for the helicopter too.

Guards see in a narrow cone, hear footsteps and gunfire, investigate bodies they come across, and raise the alarm if they find you. Stay low, stay in the dark and move behind them. Light matters: lamps make you easy to spot, while forest, buildings and night hide you.

Controls

Move with WASD or the arrow keys and hold Shift to sprint. C crouches, Z goes prone and Space jumps. F performs a takedown or strike, E interacts, Q toggles Shadow Vision, T throws a noise maker and N opens the island map. Press the question mark key at any time for the full key map, and Esc to pause.

Questions

Is Mission Shadow free? Yes. The whole game is free to play in the browser.

Do I need to install anything? No. It runs on the page using WebGL; a desktop or laptop with a keyboard and mouse is recommended.

Is the island the same every time? No. Each visit builds a different island, and adding an island code to the address brings you back to one you liked.
